It’s the time of year you start making plans for your yard and garden.  You may be adding some plants to your flowerbeds or deciding on what to grow this year in your vegetable garden.  Whatever plans you are making don’t forget to include a garden arbor.  What you may not realize is the trellis sides of most arbors work for tomatoes as much as they work for roses.  It doesn’t matter what climbing vine you have; they love arbors!

If you don’t have a place for an arbor or want something a little bit simpler, a heavy duty iron or metal trellis is a great way to go.  The heavy trellises tend to stay in place better than the light weight ones which are nice if you live somewhere you may get some storms and windy weather.  Since you can get a trellis in many shapes and sizes you can use them all over the yard, flowerbeds or garden.  They’re great for any vine vegetable and recommended to get the fruit off of the ground.  This makes it easier on you as well since you don’t have to bend over and strain your back!  Just a few helpful items that can be moved around and utilized as you need.

Arbors and Love

It’s hard to think about an arbor at this time of year with the leaves falling from the trees, the sun going down quicker and the cool air starting to flow like a breeze right out of the freezer.  But I look at the beautiful garden arbor my husband gave me every day because it reminds me of how much he loves me.  It also reminds me of the arguments that ensued before he bought it for me for my birthday several years ago.  Of course, now I know the arguments were fake ones for the benefit of a surprise and it makes me smile.

To have such a wonderful memory associated with such a beautiful piece of art that comes alive each year.  The vines climb up and around the lattice and finally entwine themselves throughout the archway creating a canopy of color and amazing aromas.  I think I watch it throughout the fall and winter because I so look forward to watching life progress in the spring.  This simple cedar wood arbor is far more than I ever thought it would be because it continually reminds me of the love of my life.

An arbor can be a great addition to any yard as they can even provide an excellent entry point to your yard or garden.  By positioning your arbor as a welcoming arch into your home, your guests will feel special as they enter under your beautiful archway.  This really sets the tone for your entire yard and your home.  You know that old saying, “You only have one chance to make a good impression”?  With a beautiful arbor, you definitely will!

Arbors add a touch of elegance and extravagance to your outdoor space that no other outdoor structures can.  They say welcome to all who enter here.  A great arbor can also change the whole perception of not only your yard but also of your home.  A good perception of your home translates to a good perception of you.

Give everyone who enters the wonderful experience of a welcoming yard.  You might be surprised at the difference something as simple as an arbor can make in your life.  Opening up your heart to those who enter your home is always a good thing.
