The Beauty of a Welcoming Arbor

I recently saw an article about a woman who had created multiple outdoor living spaces in her yard and it was fascinating.  So much so that I decided, on a much smaller scale, to try my hand at creating a few interesting and inviting places in and among the gardens and landscape of my yard.  I placed as an entrance to my front yard rose garden along with a beautiful garden arbor with a climbing trellis on the sides.  It was so easy to put together that I wish I had done this a long time ago.

The roses immediately took to the arbor and have filled in the sides with great ease crafting a lovely entrance to the front yard.  The design of the metal arbor incorporating the trellis has worked magnificently.  I also love the openness of the arch and can’t wait until the roses encompass the canopy in fragrant blooms.  I can smell them as I write!  I wonder why it took me so long to start finding ways to make my yard truly mine.  This incredible natural cedar arbor is perfect as it has the look and feel that I want my front yard to project.

Greatness of Green Tea

I enjoy tea. I like all kinds but my favorite type of tea by far is green tea. It tastes so good to me. It also tastes good with pretty much every other food. It also tastes wonderful when it is iced and even better if you add sugar or honey. This makes it like green sweet tea. Surprisingly it goes very well with ice cream too. The cold and sweet ice cream just blends so perfectly with the warm or hot beverage that has a slightly bitter taste.

Green tea is also surprisingly good for your health. Green yes helps prevent diabetes and arthritis and it also kills cancer cells. One can easily increase the length of their life by simply drinking green tea everyday. Green tea also has caffeine so it can be used instead of coffee every morning. One Chinese proverb goes “Better to be deprived of food for three days, than tea for one.”

So green tea is one of the best things that you can put into your body. If you can make it a habit then you will immediately be living a healthier life.

Overpopulation as a Global Killer

Who needs to worry about an asteroid hitting the earth when all it takes is a single tiny sperm hitting their marks and making a new baby to kill this lovely planet we call home. “The world is overpopulated but people keep on f*#@ing, f*#@ing is how babies are made.” That is a memorable quote from the now deceased Kurt Vonnegut Jr. from his book Breakfast of Champions. Always made a mark on me and I still went ahead and made 3 new babies to add to global overpopulation.

And not even mentioning the stress on the planet to feed these billions of peeps, consider the mindless over-consumption with little or no regard for the waste in creating it or the waste refuse tossed in a trash landfill. Over-population is a real problem and a real bummer. This is a problem that can only be solved with birth control because people love to have sex and that’s not going to stop. If you look at it realistically, one solution is homosexual sex. Maybe it really is more natural than we would like to believe and a way nature is taking care of the problem of overpopulation. If we would stop and think how nature works, then we wouldn’t be so hung up with homosexuality and encourage it as a life choice.

It’s All About Balance

I am a fan of sports. I like all sorts of professional sports, including those performed at the Olympics. In high school I played basketball and threw discus for the track and field team. So when it comes to sports, I’m pretty sure I know what I’m talking about. And the most important part of playing a sport is balance. If fact, balance is one of the most important things we can master to help us with just about everything we do; inside and outside.

If you lack balance than it’s hard to play any sport. It’s also difficult to garden and some find it hard to play with children. Many things affect our balance such as excess weight, weak muscles and injuries and we are pretty much useless without it. Another thing that I find for many is life is not as enjoyable when you struggle with balance. It’s hard to skip and move freely when you don’t feel in control of your body. One of the best things you can do to help improve your balance along with weight control, strength training and being careful is doing yoga. Many people find it really does help them find their center and balance physically, mentally and spiritually.
